About Emerald Emporium

About

Scarlett Siegmund always wanted to start her own business.  She just didn’t think it would take 77 years.  She was born in New York City and lived in New York State her whole life.  In 2017, she moved to Indiana to be with her daughter Mary and son-in-law Ben.

Scarlett said she didn’t want to sit around the house all day while Mary and Ben worked at nearby Crane, IN.  She wanted to keep busy running her own business and selling her hand-made crocheted blankets.   So Mary and Ben bought a house to help fulfill her life-long dream.

A green house in Bloomfield off the main highway.  Emerald-colored, hence the name Emerald Emporium.  You think the house should have been red for Scarlett.

When she’s not at the house, you can find Scarlett at the various Flea Markets, Bazaars and Craft Fairs around Indiana.  She sells mainly her handmade items:  crocheted blankets, scarves and hats. Scarlett has also been an Avon representative for 50 years and she can get great deals on Avon products.

Mary sells her handmade Polymer Clay jewelry and handmade crystal jewelry.  She specializes in Steampunk style.  Steampunk is a style of design and fashion that combines historical elements with anachronistic technological features inspired by science fiction.  Think Mary Shelley and H.G. Wells meets the 21st century.
